Día de los Muertos Evening Celebration 2026

A BIMA PRISM PROGRAM

As night falls, BIMA will transform with candlelit galleries for an evening Día de los Muertos ceremony inspired by the graveyard traditions honored across Mexico.

This ceremony offers a more intimate, contemplative counterpart to the day’s free events. It is a chance to slow down, reflect, and honor loved ones who have passed in a setting built specifically for that purpose and that reflects Mexican tradition.

Wander the candle-filled Museum as live music and performers will set the atmosphere. Visit the traditional ofrenda, created by artist Araceli Cruz, to add your own mementos and stories. Enjoy food and drink available for purchase throughout the night and experience the beauty and depth of this tradition after dark.

All are welcome to join, but tickets are required.

BIMA’s PRISM programming is where art comes alive, off the walls and onto the stage. From films and concerts to artist talks and community celebrations, PRISM expands what it means to be an art museum through regular, engaging live events on BIMA’s stage, in its galleries, and outside the museum.
