Creativity Lab
Registration opens February 7, 2026
AGES 9-11
Create with complete artistic freedom during the Creativity Lab Summer Camp! Young artists will explore their creative potential in a supportive, process-focused environment where curiosity leads the way. Campers will play, imagine, test ideas, take creative risks, and learn from mistakes—building confidence and problem-solving skills along the way.
Projects include hands-on experimentation with paper, wire, textiles, and natural materials, encouraging students to combine materials, follow their interests, and discover new ways of making.
Creativity Lab will be led by Lishu Rodriguez, a certified arts educator and teacher who creates inclusive lessons to inspire the next generation of artists.
Each day of camp includes a supervised lunch break and recess at the Waterfront Park and Playground.

SCHOLARSHIP & TUITION ASSISTANCE
Each year, BIMA allocates resources to make it possible for students who love art to take part in our Summer Camps. If you would like to apply for tuition assistance or a scholarship, please do not register for the camp here. Instead, there will be a unique tuition assistance and scholarship application link updated here on February 7, 2026 that you will fill out.
There is no need to provide financial information, though we would like to know more about your student artist and how they may benefit from participating in our BIMA Summer Camp program.
About your instructor
Lishu Rodriguez has been passionate about art since her childhood days in Nepal. Since then, she followed her dream and earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles and later spent 20 years as a furniture designer and social entrepreneur. Now, a certified arts educator in Washington State and a National Board Certified teacher, Lishu brings her love for the arts to teaching at a local elementary school and art museum. She believes in the arts as a path to personal and communal well-being. Known for her calm, encouraging style, she creates inclusive, engaging lessons that inspire every child to explore, experiment, and grow as an artist, instilling a lifelong love of the arts.
