Summer Camp: Storybook Studio I
Registration is now open!
AGES 6-8
Discover the art of visual storytelling through lines, shapes, and color. Inspired by BIMA’s collection of artists’ books, young artists will create hands-on projects that blend image and narrative, learning what makes a compelling story while building confidence in their own artistic voice.
Projects include: Printmaking, bookbinding, illustration, and more.
Storybook Studio I will be led by Lishu Rodriguez, a certified arts educator and teacher who creates inclusive lessons to inspire the next generation of artists.
Each day of camp includes a supervised lunch break and recess at the Waterfront Park and Playground.

SCHOLARSHIP & TUITION ASSISTANCE
Each year, BIMA allocates resources to make it possible for students who love art to take part in our Summer Camps. If you would like to apply for tuition assistance or a scholarship, please do not register for the camp here. Instead, please fill out the application here.
There is no need to provide financial information, though we would like to know more about your student artist and how they may benefit from participating in our BIMA Summer Camp program.
About your instructor
Lishu Rodriguez has been passionate about art since her childhood days in Nepal. Since then, she followed her dream and earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles and later spent 20 years as a furniture designer and social entrepreneur. Now, a certified arts educator in Washington State and a National Board Certified teacher, Lishu brings her love for the arts to teaching at a local elementary school and art museum. She believes in the arts as a path to personal and communal well-being. Known for her calm, encouraging style, she creates inclusive, engaging lessons that inspire every child to explore, experiment, and grow as an artist, instilling a lifelong love of the arts.
