Community Art at Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center
Get creative and connect with others at our monthly Community Art events at the Bainbridge Island Senior Community Center! Happening the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 1-3pm, each art project is inspired by one of BIMA’s current exhibitions and is taught by a museum educator.
2nd Tuesdays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm (Register through BISCC)
BISCC Community Art Projects:
- 1/13/26 Water-life Reefs: Build a coral reef inspired by exhibiting artist Mare Blocker using paper and colored pencils.
- 2/10/26 Nature Sculptures: Draw inspiration from exhibiting artist Aisha Harrison and create an assemblage sculpture using items found in nature.
- 3/10/26 Leaf Imprint Clay Tiles: Create leaf imprints in clay tile inspired by the work of exhibiting artists George and David Lewis.
- 4/14/26 Concrete Poetry: In honor of Earth Day and National Poetry Month, create poems in the shape of different natural elements, such as animals, foliage, and the elements.
- 5/12/26 Hanji Meander Book Arts: Create a meander book with pockets using Hanji paper, inspired by Aimee Lee’s exhibition Tethered.
