Getting Here

Just like there are many ways to view art, there are many ways to arrive at BIMA.

BY WATER:
BIMA is located on picturesque Bainbridge Island, a 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle and an easy five-minute walk from the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal.

BY LAND:
The museum is nestled in the heart of Puget Sound and is easily accessible by car, bus, or bicycle.

Parking is available and it is FREE to visitors.

Directions

FROM SEATTLE

Take the Seattle-Bainbridge Ferry from Coleman Dock. Enjoy the 35-minute ferry ride with views of the city and Mt. Rainier (weather dependent, of course!). Upon disembarking the ferry, follow the signs to downtown Bainbridge. BIMA is located on the northwest corner of Olympic Way/Hwy 305 and Winslow Way. It is the first building on the right when you turn onto Winslow Way. You can’t miss it!

FROM THE PENINSULAS

Take Highway 305 South across the Agate Pass Bridge and onto Bainbridge Island. Drive 6.7 miles to Winslow Way. Turn right onto Winslow Way, then take the first right onto Ravine Lane NE into the parking area.

Accessibility

BIMA is located in the Island Gateway complex which has accessible parking spaces on Ravine Lane. There is a flat surface entering the courtyard, which leads into the museum. Parking is also available in the underground garage. Take the elevator to First Floor Rear (1R) during museum hours for access through the Community Gallery to the Auditorium, Bistro and Museum.

All of the Museum is accessible by ramps and elevators. If someone in your party needs a wheelchair to enjoy the museum, please ask to borrow a loaner one at the reception desk.
