Home: Group Show
Past Exhibition
BIMA is proud to partner with Olympic College (OC) and Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN) to present Home – a group exhibition featuring 25 artists from the Puget Sound Region. Home celebrates the opening of Olympic College’s newest building on its Bremerton campus, the College Instructional Center, which houses the new Olympic College Art Gallery.
Home is co-curated by Marie Weichman (Professor of Art at OC), Bill Baran-Mickle (Board Member of BARN), and Greg Robinson (Chief Curator at BIMA), with assistance from Amy Sawyer (Assistant Curator at BIMA). Artists working in diverse media address various concepts of ‘home’ ranging from traditional structures such as houses and bird nests to geographic anchors, life journeys, emotional attachments, and social and political dissociation. Media includes drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, glass, stone, mixed media sculpture and assemblage, artist books, jewelry, textile art and weaving, and furniture.
