The Grapes of Wrath (1940) 2h9m

Based on the novel by John Steinbeck and directed by John Ford, this film comments on the westward movement of American settlement and through an award-winning performance by Jane Darwell. An Oklahoma family driven off their farm by the poverty and hopelessness of the Dust Bowl joins the westward migration to California while suffering the misfortunes of the Great Depression.
