POSTPONED – The Fiber of Community: A Conversation with John Boylan
Past Event
This event has been canceled. Thank you for understanding.
In conjunction with the Fiber 2020 exhibition, this conversation will explore and celebrate the many roles threads and fibers have played in the Bainbridge Island community, whether in traditional Suquamish weavings, modern longline fishing, the persistence of weaving and knitting in a culture of mass-production, or the telling of yarns in a local cafe. Fibers and threads remain a core metaphor of community, conversation, and local culture, with close-knit families and a carefully woven tale, a deception that unravels or the need to follow the thread of a complicated conversation. Join us for lively dialog featuring folks who weave the web of place within our region.
