Featured Film – Honeyland

2019 | 90 minutes | NR

Hatidze supports herself and her mother with her bee-keeping skills, all of which are threatened when a family of nomads enter her territory. Stunningly beautiful and quietly powerful, this is a portrait of a vanishing way of life, the story of a determined beekeeper who is just trying to make her way in the world. HONEYLAND takes us to a faraway land (Madeconia) and culture in a way that reveals what is distinctive and what is universal about people. Exquisite photography elevates this lovely human story so much so that you tend to forget this is a documentary.
