Prime Time Family Reading 2026
Join us for Prime Time Family Reading!
Cultivate a lifelong connection to reading and the arts at Prime Time Family Reading–for FREE! One evening a week for six weeks, gather with other families to share a free community meal, enjoy reading and storytelling, and engage in lively discussions about stories and ideas. Families with children ages 6-10 will explore literature and art through award-winning children’s books and their illustrations. Each child also gets to take home a book each week, so the conversations and learning continue at home! Free preschool activities are also available for family members ages 3–5, supervised by experienced teachers.
Themes explored in books and discussions will include truth, fairness, empathy, bravery, cleverness, and imagination. The series will open with a special presentation by Barbara Lawrence, a Suquamish Elder and traditional storyteller. BIMA’s Learning & Engagement team, Jenna d’Anna and Rebecca Lawler, will facilitate this program using storytelling, engaging conversations, and open-ended questions that encourage visual and reading literacy, thoughtful listening, lots of laughs, and participation from everyone.
Prime Time Family Reading is FREE and made possible thanks to our generous donors.
