Eve, a Film Screening and Q&A
We invite you to join writer, Eve Palay, and director, Jesse Kogita, in a post-film conversation and exchange. The Q&A will follow the 2:00pm screening, but you can catch this ten minute film which will play on a loop in the Frank Burton auditorium throughout the day.
FILM DESCRIPTION
Eve is a short animated film based on Eve Palay’s short stories of transitioning and living as a transwoman in the Pacific Northwest. Eve is a writer, a poet, a dreamer, an advocate, and a deep-thinker whose central message in this film is universal: “We are all in transition.” Eve is an imaginative exploration of self-love and acceptance that uses hand-drawn illustration to shed light on Eve’s deeply personal journey.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
”Eve’s stories are personal expressions of a critical time in her life and this film comes at a critical time for the Trans and LGBTQ community. The film is about love, compassion, and acceptance, and my hope is that it will help us to learn not only about Eve’s journey, but that we will learn about our own capacity to love and to cherish the diverse perspectives and experiences that give our time on earth value.”
