Lucia Harrison will moderate a panel of artists whose works deeply reflect concerns for the environment and the planet. Shu-Ju Wang, Beverly Naidus, and Suze Woolf present selections from their work, showcasing their unique perspectives, and the processes that bring their environmentally engaged art to life.

Special Guests

Lucia HarrisonModerator

Lucia Harrison is a visual artist and Faculty Emeriti at The Evergreen State College. Through her work with botanical contact prints, she draws attention to the natural and human history of South Puget Sound in Washington State–specifically on the connection between native plants and animals.

Suze Woolf

Suze Woolf studied ceramics and printmaking at the University of Washington and worked in computer graphics for many years. Inspired by nature and science, she explores media from painting, paper-casting, artist books and pyrography to installation – sometimes all together.

Beverly Naidus

Beverly Naidus, ecoartist, author, workshop facilitator, and Emerita Professor of Interdisciplinary Arts, UW Tacoma, and author of Arts for Change: Teaching Outside the Frame (New Village Press) is currently writing a new book, and facilitating community art projects to create dialog about the pandemic time and ways we can co-create the kind of world we want.

Shu-Ju Wang

Shu-Ju Wang is a painter and book artist whose work focuses on the environment and conservation; she’s currently exploring additional avenues for more hands-on approaches in our defense against environmental collapse.
