Canceled – Create-A-Costume: Youth Workshop with Faith Hagenhofer
Past Event

Halloween is coming and it’s time for costumes—wings, tails, capes, and more! Learn basic hand sewing techniques as we design and create our own costumes. Basic costume construction techniques and tools will be covered including when to glue, when to sew, and when to tie things together. Start from scratch with just an idea, get inspired by artwork in BIMA’s galleries, or bring an in-progress project, and we’ll work together to advance your costuming skills, transforming cardboard, t-shirts, fabric yardage, and embellishment notions into the costume of your dreams.

Materials

You Bring: Face mask, sack lunch, any specialty materials you may need, and your imagination!

We Provide: A full list of provided materials will be sent prior to the workshop, so you can decide if you need anything special for your dream costume…but BIMA provides all the basics: a T-shirt for each student, fabric, cardboard, glue, scissors, needles, thread, sequins, beads, yarn, and more!

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

BIMA requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for all attendees 12 years of age and older at programs held in the Frank Buxton Auditorium or BIMA Classroom. Masks are required for all attendees regardless of vaccination status. Learn more about this policy here.
