A Brush with Letters Workshop
Past Event

What is the difference between drawing marks and writing letterforms?

Dive into the relationship of form and communication with this lettering workshop.

Although made up of seemingly simple strokes, these marks become letters that carry meaning. We’ll use pencils, brushes, pens, and non-traditional tools to explore shapes and lines as they transform into these letters.

We’ll look at historical examples and contemporary text artists to find inspiration for our workshop exercise. This is a rare chance to step out of the box with calligraphy and not be chained to the concept of letters.

Come with questions and a sense of exploration!
