Let your visit to the Museum spark your creativity!

Drop in and create while you're visiting the art museum! Join teaching artists in one of BIMA's light-filled galleries as they guide make-and-take art projects designed for all ages. No preregistration is necessary for this free program.


July 6 - Nature Mobiles taught by Juliette Wallace
Combine flowers, plants, and shells from our area with your own drawings and cut paper to create a bright summer inspired mobile.

July 13 - T-Shirt Hackathon taught by Lisa Keller
How can you customize a basic T-shirt? Come to our t-shirt hackathon and explore the possibilities!

July 20 - Felt patches and badges taught by Lisa Keller
Design your own felt patches and badges so you can wear your heart on your sleeve!

July 27 - Soft circuits taught by BI High School Spartronics
Light up your artwork by building electric circuits with the help of Bainbridge High School's Spartronics robotics team.

August 3 - Color Tessellations taught by Nicole Schluter
Experiment with a meditative, Zentangle-inspired method of filling geometric shapes with your own patterns and designs.

August 10 - Contour Hand Drawings taught by Nicole Schluter
Play with using a continuous line to create a picture! Contour drawing is a great way for people of all skill levels to build their observational abilities.

August 17 - Collage taught by Michele Soderstrom
Explore the medium of collage by layering papers, images, and more to create one of a kind artwork.

August 24 - Trading Cards taught by Danielle Gordon
Make your own trading cards, "collecting" drawings of plants and animals you find in the museum!

August 31 - Bookbinding taught by Lisa Keller
Learn basic folding and stitching techniques to create a handmade book and custom cover.

September 1 - DIY Stickers taught by Scott McCall
Make your own stickers using common art supplies. Bring home stickers for your collection or trade with your friends

September 2 - Wire and glass bead sculptures taught by Isobel Coney
Draw inspiration from Jenny Pohlman and Sabrina Knowles's artworks to create your own wire and bead sculptures.
