Field Trips

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) is pleased to offer Puget Sound area public, private, homeschool and out-of-school teachers and students (grades K-12) a fully subsidized Field Trip Program.

Arts education through field trips is a major component of BIMA’s Strategic Plan. The BIMA Field Trip Program launched in the Fall of 2013 and received support from a Washington State Arts Commission/ArtsWA First Step Grant in 2015, supporting the development of the field trip model on which the current program is built. Field trips further the museum’s mission of making art accessible to all, offering quality exposure to and education about art for students and educators from around the Puget Sound region. Field trips are underwritten by BIMA and funded 100% through grants, sponsorships, and BIMA’s fundraising events and donors.

Each FREE Field Trip includes:

  • Tour Docents use Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) to cultivate student observation and critical thinking skills.
