BIMA founder Cynthia Sears on this exhibition.

Artist’s Books Chapter 5 takes on the subject of women: past and present, renowned and unknown, clothed and unclothed. You will find books that consider the woman as goddess, as Mother Earth, as royalty, as nobody at all. Some record actual experiences while others fabricate events in the lives of real or entirely fictitious people. From contemplating the most esteemed women of our time to guessing about those whose identities can only be imagined, the artist’s books in this chapter offer us a widely diverse look at Women, Now and Then.

Curated by and from the collection of BIMA Founder Cynthia Sears.
