Presented in partnership with Living Arts Cultural Heritage Center, New Life Community Development Agency, Kitsap County African-American Historical Society, Emanuel Apostolic Church, and Bainbridge Island School District.
Join us for an open house of Weaving Histories, Living Arts Cultural Heritage Center and BIMA's celebration of Black History Month.
This public event will feature roaming arts performances and visual art displays during the hours of 3-6 pm, as well as a formal program in the Buxton Auditorium from 3:30-4:30 pm including greetings from regional dignitaries, traditional music and dance from several cultural groups, words and offerings, and a closing by the Black History Gospel Choir, directed by Willi Mae Sharpe. Reservations are strongly suggested for the 3:30 PM program as space is limited. Light food and refreshments are provided.
