Please join us for a weekly mindful meditation practice, meeting on Thursday mornings in the BIMA Auditorium.Mindful meditation is a practice focused on breathing techniques and quieting one's thoughts. Meditation has been shown to support both pain and stress management. A night featuring music from Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” repertoire of swing standards and traditional Gypsy melodies.
Guest Tovi Newman, born and raised in Alaska, plays guitar with hard-swinging rhythm and lithe playful solos. He founded the group Swing 49, the gypsy swing band from the 49th state.
Neil Andersson is a member of the Northwest Music Awards Hall of Fame. In 1993 he co-founded the seminal gypsy jazz band Pearl Django, eventually recording 10 albums with the group.

You are invited to join BIMA's After School Art Club! Get inspired by the Museum's exhibitions and create your own works of art! Guided by instructor Isobel Coney, explore materials and techniques through a new project each day, including book arts, clay, portrait drawing, sculpture, and more in this popular early-release Monday after-school program for intermediate and middle school students.
After School Art Club takes place over five or six weeks on Monday afternoons from 2:30-4:30 PM in the Museum classroom. All materials are provided.

Meet Me at the ...10:30 am—12:00 pm
Meet Me at the Movies is a unique film experience. Theme-based clips from classic and contemporary films are shown, followed by audience discussion and reminiscence guided by a moderator. Designed for people with memory loss and their care partners, this program can be enjoyed by all adults. This program is produced in partnership with the Frye Art Museum
Registration is not required for this free program. Doors open 30 minutes before the program begins. First-come, first-served.
