Hear exhibiting artists speak about their work, inspiration, methods, and materials. Lectures are in the Auditorium, followed by a reception with food and drink either in the Bistro or one of the galleries.
Join us for a lecture featuring metalsmith Nadine Kariya, whose work is on exhibition in the Community Gallery at BIMA. Reception with light food and drink in the gallery will take place immediately afterward.
Kariya’s jewelry art retrospective reflects her decades of artistic visions and the times we have lived in. This master metalsmith shares forty years of art making, reflecting a variety of inspirations spanning from her Japanese-American heritage to contemporary designs and personal and political narratives.
Preregistration is strongly advised for this popular lecture series. General admission is pay-what-you-can at the door, with a suggestion of $5 for adults; students with valid identification are admitted free of charge.
