Emily Kaiser Thelin is a writer and editor based in Berkeley, California, a former restaurant cook and a two-time James Beard finalist. Thelin first met Paula Wolfert, one of the world’s most influential food explorers and cookbook writers, while at Food & Wine magazine where she was the editor of Paula’s Master Cook column. Paula Wolfert is recognized for bringing Mediterranean cooking to America, and having defined a whole style of food writing — intense, immersive research, making no compromises in her recipes, and cooking things exactly as she saw and tasted them. Thelin was one of the first people Wolfert told about her Alzheimer's diagnosis, and this prompted her to write Unforgettable: The Bold Flavors of Paula Wolfert's Renegade Life, a culinary biography which includes over fifty of Paula's most unforgettable dishes and explores the relationship between food, wellbeing and memory.
